Peruvian Artist and Atlanta Attorney Hold Art Exhibit
Pedro Fuertes, a painter from Peru who lives in metro Atlanta, and Robert West, international business attorney in the Atlanta law office of Greenberg Traurig LLP, are holding a joint art exhibit at the Naomi Silva Gallery in Midtown.
The exhibit, which opened April 6 and will run through May 5, features Mr. Fuertes’ contemporary Peruvian oil paintings and Mr. West’s black and white photography of the ruins of Machu Picchu, Peru.
The exhibition is sponsored by the Consulate General of Perú in Atlanta and “Colores Orígenes” by Home Depot Inc.
The gallery is open Tuesday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and is located in the Tula Art Center, Suite M-2.

Hispanic Chamber PR Director Joins Atlanta Law Firm
Vanessa Olcese Inman, former Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce public relations and membership director, has joined Keegan Federal & Associates law firm as head of public relations for the Hispanic community.
Born in Peru, Ms. Inman will coordinate the firm’s outreach efforts to bring its business law, personal injury and brain and spinal cord injury expertise to Georgia’s Hispanic community.
Ms. Inman worked with the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for six years, during which time she coordinated the organization’s membership and community events. She received the Condor Award from the Peruvian-American Association in 2005 in recognition of her work with the Hispanic business community.

Multicultural Marketing Manager Named for Cox
Roberto Perez-Irausquin, former head of the Norsan Group Inc.’s marketing department in Atlanta, has been named multicultural marketing manager strategist for Cox Communications Inc. in Las Vegas.
Mr. Perez-Irausquin, who hails from Venezuela, will be in charge of the company’s multicultural marketing strategy with a specific emphasis on the Hispanic community. He will monitor household penetration of Cox’s cable, high-speed Internet and telephone services for Hispanic and other ethnic groups throughout the United States.
Cox is the country’s fourth-largest cable television provider and has 6 million customers.

Kwanza Hall meets with Polish officials on Europe trip.
Atlanta City Councilman Returns from European Fellowship
Atlanta City Councilmember Kwanza Hall recently returned from a 23-day trip to Europe for the Marshall Memorial Fellowship Program for 2007.
Along with 56 other emerging American leaders representing 20 states and the District of Columbia, Mr. Hall participated in the program that examined the economic, political, and social issues facing the United States and its trans-Atlantic allies.
They looked at issues of public space, the importance of urban transit, human rights and urban design.
The Marshall Memorial Fellowship seeks to educate the next generation of American and European leaders on the importance of the trans-Atlantic relationship and encourage them to work together on international and domestic policy challenges.
The trip included visits to Washington; Brussels, Belgium; Paris; Lubeck, Germany; Athens, Greece, and Krakow and Warsaw, Poland.
Mr. Hall was selected to participate in the program through a competitive nationwide process. Fellows represented government, media, business and non-profit organizations.
The Marshall Memorial Fellowship began in 1982 has involved more than 1,300 Europeans and Americans.
Mr. Hall was elected in November 2005 as city councilmember for Atlanta’s District 2. He is director of business development for MACTEC Inc., an environmental engineering and consulting firm.

New Investment Officer Appointed to Canadian Consulate
Richard Clegg, who formerly led the Canadian government’s export development efforts in Mexico, has been appointed as investment officer at the Canadian Consulate General in Atlanta.
Mr. Clegg promotes Canadian business abroad and helps Canadian companies introduce their products, services or technologies to the Southeast. He also assists non-Canadian companies to invest in Canada or to source Canadian goods and services.
He has experience in food and beverages, industrial automation, production engineering, remote sensing and machine vision, as well as the aerospace and defense industries.
Mr. Clegg joined the Canadian government in 1998 in Ottawa, where he led the government’s agri-business commerce efforts in Eastern Europe and Russia.
