Savannah’s mayor pro tem, Edna B. Jackson, is to join in China the mayors of Athens, Roswell and Valdosta at the International Mayor’s Forum on Tourism to be held April 10-12 in Zhengzhou, Henan province.
Heidi Davison of Athens, Jere Wood of Roswell and John Fretti of Valdosta along with Ms. Jackson were invited by the China National Tourism Administration and Henan Provincial People’s Government.
City Councilman Kwanza Hall is representing Atlanta on the trip.
Nick Qin, founder of Norcross-based China Professional Tours Inc., arranged for the officials to attend the “Tourism—Opportunity and Challenge of City Development” forum.
The event is to provide an opportunity for mayors from around the world to share concepts and experiences in developing tourism.
Among the topics to be discussed are city emergency response systems, city branding, destination marketing and cultural conservation.
The forum is to coincide with the
China Domestic Travel Fair, also to take place in Zhengzhou.
