An Atlanta-based translation and communications firm with an office in Bangalore, India, has appointed a new vice president of international operations.
GlobalDoc Inc., which uses in-country, native speakers to meet professional translation needs for companies around the world, has tapped Italy native Simonetta Esposito to further its global development.
Ms. Esposito has already been working in her new capacity at GlobalDoc for about a month and is reporting to Mike Cooper, GlobalDoc’s CEO.
She comes from 10 years at auto part manufacturer Tenneco’s European headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, where she coordinated public relations for its Africa, Europe and Middle East operations.
Although she’s coming off a decade abroad, Ms. Esposito is no stranger to the Southeast.
She came with her parents to the U.S. at age 17 and completed a master’s degree in international business from the University of South Carolina before working in guest relations for Atlanta-based Coca-Cola Co.
She told GlobalAtlanta that she’s excited about being back in the Southeast, a dynamic area of the U.S.
“Atlanta has grown enormously since 13 years ago. There’s been lots of development. I think it’s an exciting city to be in and one that’s going to keep growing,” she said.
GlobalDoc has been headquartered in Atlanta since its founding in 1993, serving from here its customers in the U.S. and Europe.
Ms. Esposito said Atlanta’s increasingly international bent is a good fit for a company with a vast network of translators that can offer services in practically any language a company would encounter in business, from Hindi to Urdu to Mandarin Chinese.
The Bangalore office, GlobalDoc India Pvt. Ltd., handles its operations in the Asia-Pacific region.
Although she doesn’t do direct translation work, Ms. Esposito speaks English, Italian, Spanish and some French.
