Atlanta Health Software Company Hires Head of Asian Operations

Atlanta-based health care software provider Eclipsys Corp. has hired a head for the company’s operations in Asia.

David van Eck is to be vice president and general manager for Asia-Pacific operations, working out of Eclipsys’ offices in Singapore.

Company officials said the hire is in line with company plans to expand in the region.

“Eclipsys is committed to growing our international business,” said Andrew Eckert, the company’s president and CEO.  “We are fortunate to add someone with David’s background and experience to help us expand our presence and efforts in the Asia-Pacific region.”

Mr. van Eck formerly ran the Asian operations of Stockholm, Sweden-based medical supplies company Elekta AB and software developer Oracle Corp. in Redwood, CA.

He said that Eclipsys landed its first key regional client in SingHealth, a network of hospitals and clinics in Singapore.

 

German Software Company Names President of Atlanta Subsidiary

Starnberg, Germany-based business management software developer Crossgate AG announced the new head of its Atlanta-based North American subsidiary in a press release March 10.

The company has hired Scott Lewin as president of Crossgate Inc., one of four international subsidiaries launched in the past year in France, Italy, the U.K. and the U.S.

The new president said that local subsidiaries are necessary to provide support for Crossgate’s software products.

“We are convinced that we can only dominate the market with subsidiaries in each country and local expertise at hand,” Mr. Lewin said.

The company currently provides business-to-business communication and oversight software to approximately 3,000 companies, with an emphasis on the automotive and manufacturing industries.

Mr. Lewin said that the Atlanta-based subsidiary is to target companies in the automotive, energy, pharmaceutical and technology sectors.
