Foreign Representatives to Attend September Bioscience Conference
Some 500 attendees from five countries and 19 states are expected to attend the BioFusion 2006 conference this September, said Russell Allen, president of Atlanta-based BioSouth.
The bioscience partnering conference, to be held Sept. 17-19 at the Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club at Duke University in Durham, N.C., near the Research Triangle Park, will provide international links for biotechnology scientists, researchers and businesses in the Southeast, Mr. Allen told GlobalAtlanta. Most bioscience organizations need help marketing their technology even though the Southeast has the second highest number of biotech firms in the United States according to Ernst & Young LLP’s 2006 Global Biotechnology Report, he said. “BioFusion fills the void in partnering conferences in the region. It provides one stop for a company’s business development needs, one-on-one meetings on site and networking opportunities for companies in different stages of product development,” he said. International networking opportunities at the conference stem from formal relationships with Atlanta-based British, Canadian, German and Israeli consulates and chambers of commerce that have invited businesses from their countries, he added. For non-members, early registration, which ends July 1 is $595. For BioSouth members, early registration is $297.50. After July 1 registration is $795 for non-members and $397.50 for members. To register, visit www.biosouth.org. Contact Mr. Allen at rallen@biosouth.org or (404) 551-3436 for more information. |
